B&S Uro-Tec Blue/Maroon Pads Question
I mostly take care of my own cars--2 VWs with hard clear. The finishes are well cared for and usually just have light swirls with a few deeper scratches now and then from who knows were.
I`ve never needed to use a compound and usually just polish with HD Polish and a B&S 5.5" orange pad.
Want to order some of the Uro-Tec pads. So for those of you who have used the Uro-Tecs do I need the Blue heavy cut pad or will the Maroon Heavy polishing pads be enough and finish well on hard VW clear with my G15??

Re: B&S Uro-Tec Blue/Maroon Pads Question
The maroon URO-Tech or Low-Pro pads are probably my all time favorite pad. The B&S pads just seem better made. If I had to try and get by using only 1 pad type & cut, this pad would be it.
It a 'Jack of all trades' pad.

Re: B&S Uro-Tec Blue/Maroon Pads Question
The blue ones are very very firm and have a lot of bite to them. I have used them and do so only for extreme cutting. With the blue pad you will absolutely need to finish down with a different made afterwards. The maroon pad is also quick firm but more forgiving. I was able to remove a significant amount of defects with it and depending on the product and paint, finish down with it. On softer paints you'll have to finish down with something less aggressive. If I have time later today I will post pics of both pads.

Re: B&S Uro-Tec Blue/Maroon Pads Question
Maroon Pad is great for moderate cut and finish with LSP ready using Rupes UHS. If you are working on moderate to hard clear coat, and your VW is usually hard, sobit could sure be a pad of choice.
Last week my friend use Blue pad together with FG400 on a black Hyundai H-1 and he could make it as one step, it can finish even better with UHS. You can use both pads depending on what you focus more on cut or finish.
