WG Cockpit Trim Sealant on Leather

So today I used WCTS for the first time on my Leather, which brought up questions.

I cleaned my leather very good of anything, which obviously left it a little dry. So I'm wondering why I would then apply a product which it's purpose is mainly to protect first, onto my leather. Yes it is now protected very much, but it's not conditioned to keep the leather soft and supple.

And on the other side, if I DO condition my leather first, and then apply the WCTS. Won't that cause the WCTS to NOT adhere as well as if it weren't conditioned at all in the first place?

Isn't the point in Leather care to Condition,
    AND Protect?

Thank you everyone, and have a great Sunday!

What kind of car is it? Also when you cleaned the seats did you see the cleaner create dark spots?

If no dark spots it is coated leather and really conditioners dont benefit this type. All you need is protection on it.

If it is true leather (like what's found in Ford King Ranch Editions) then you would need a good Conditioner to feed the leather.

I would say drop a couple drops of water to test it, bit the WGCTS would form water needs anyway.

Not as I understand leather care should be.

    Instead it's:
    Clean and Protect

It's a 2001 Honda CRV SE. There was no black spots at all after cleaning.
I am assuming since my car is not a high end car that maybe it is coated leather.

After applying WCTS it looks very nice on the leather.

You should be perfectly fine with simple gentle clean followed with protection.

Save conditioning for good leather dress shoes.

Some peoples definition of matte also equals "dry"
