Need help selecting products to bring back my 23 year old RIO RED paint on my 1994 Mustang Cobra

I have a 1994 Mustang Cobra with the factory Rio Red paint. It has swirls, minor scratches and is oxidized. I would like to know what products along with 6" pads (I have PC DA). Looking for the easiest to use and I dont have a fortune to spend. That might be a lot to ask but I have a bad back and I cant put 80 hours into wetsanding and all. Not looking to make it show quality, just looking to bring it back to life. Thank you.

Clearcoats are thin by Mike Phillips

Point being, you don't want to wetsand factory paint because it's thin. You especially don't want to wetsand old factory paint.

    Remember,

    • Sanding takes off paint
    • Compounding takes off paint
    • Polishing takes off a tiny bit of paint

For factory paint, doing all of the above means more than likely sooner or later you're going to burn through the clearcoat.

As for a product recommendation, since you have a bad back, how about just it one time and do a GREAT job using a one-step cleaner wax?

Being limited with with your physical condition. Try looking into a single step process to see if you can achieve your idea of correction. Typical gains on a older Ford could be in the 50-60% clarity improvement. Look into products like Menzerna PF2500 or Sonax 4-6

I would like to suggest Chemical Guys Blacklight! Its not going to remove all the swirls but this product amazes me everytime I use it, always makes the paint look great on older finishes from my experiences.
