Go rotary or go home!! Detailfest!

    [/url]

I'll have the honor of demo-ing rotary polishers "buffers" at Detailfest this year!!!!

For those of you that do not know me I'm Joe and own an auto detailing business based in Arcadia, Ca.

I specialize in performing high-end paint correction but I have been known to polish almost anything.

I first picked up a rotary polisher in the early 80s and have yet to do away with one. I own just about every common make and model of rotary polisher there is. I also have a pretty nice collection of classic "old skool" polishers. Some are almost 100 years old!!

Dual action polishers are very popular now but I do not want you to write off the rotary polisher. No other type of polisher has more power or will remove defects quicker.

If you are interested in giving a "buffer" a go or what to maybe sharpen you "buffing" skills please come by and see me Sunday afternoon in the demo tent at detailfest.

    I'll see you there!!

    Hi professor. Two questions:
Do you use any DA, and if you do it, when?
In your rotary collection, do you have the Festool?
    Best regards!

As a spectator, would I have to sign up to be present for these demos you speak of, or will it just be a walk in type of deal where anyone attending can come and partake in watching you demonstrate proper rotary skills?

Yes I own many DAs. Porter Cables, Meguiars G100-110v2, Rupes. We use them on light corrections and as a follow up after the rotary. No Festool.

I'll get the chance to try out my Flex Kompact in a couple of weeks. I'll be the first to admit I'm afraid of the rotary but I've built up some courage to finally give them a try.

Off topic: Is that a custom stool in pic #2?

    James

You are probably a better detailer than me so I would not worry about the Kompakt making any holograms at all. You will NATURALLY get a great "FEEL" with this machine.

If I could give you the biggest problem I have had with the PE8...SPLATTER!! The pads are so small that you have to be very careful in creating splatter!! I am still trying to get used to that. Start slow and spread and then move to the speed you want. BTW, Speed setting 1 is "too slow" in correcting....you will have to bump up.

As I have said in many posts regarding you:

You may be a better detailer, you are younger, stronger, faster and smarter....HOWEVER, YOU WILL NEVER BE BETTER LOOKIN THAN ME!!!!!

ALL the Women call me "The Duke of Delight!!" As always I am a LEGEND IN MY OWN MIND!!

I also just woke up from my dream too!!
