Bad touch up job + clear coat failure
Hello everyone. I recently attempted to repair some super deep scratches by filling in the scratches with touch up and wetsanding it smooth. Unfortunately, the touch up paint, after drying, is not exactly the same color as the original paint. Also I stupidly managed to sand through the clear coat in a quarter sized area. It seems that I just barely went through the clear coat, so most of the basecoat is still there. Has anyone had any good results with spray can clear coat? And if so, what is the process for it? I've looked for info everywhere and couldn't find instructions on how to do this with a paint spray can. If it's possible to do this, I want to try to remove the touch up paint in the scratch, fill it back up with a different brand touch up and clear coat it to seal it. BTW, the touch up paint was from a Honda dealer. Go figure. Anyways, all help is much appreciated.
