Portable units usually are not designed for 100% duty cycle like stationary industrial grade ones are.

Is it really worth it to you to be spending a couple grand so you can run a $150 air tool, or does it make more sense at least initially to buy a $150 electric tool that is self sufficient and will sand all day long without complaining?
My father own a ferrari you tell me if i can spend a couple Gs!! lol im jk well heres the big question can the electric tool give the same quality other than sading all day without complaining? I am looking for something good but not pricey!!

Yes. Not quite sure why you'd think otherwise.

Let's clarify one thing, here: NOT ALL ELECTRIC SANDERS ARE CREATED EQUAL!

There are sanders designed and intended for wood working exclusively, and sanders/polishers that are also effective for paint and body work/detailing. What you want is a DA sander/polisher like the Porter Cable 7424XP or Meguiar's G110v2.

All you need in order to use one of these for sanding is either the 3M Hook-It or Hook-It II backing plate and interface pad, or the Meguiar's Unigrit backing plate and interface pad.

Mike already posted this once but I get the impression you may not have actually gone through and read it carefully:

    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...-phillips.html

Until you've thoroughly read through that AND gotten your hands on the tools and supplies to PRACTICE doing this stuff, I would caution that you're really in no ready condition to be working as a professional -- you need to take the time to figure out how not to screw things up before asking people to pay you for your time and "expertise."
