3D Speed for Merc Paint?
Hi Guys, I have a E400 Merc coming in the first week of April and the last one I touched was in 2005 and had diamond-hard paint. The owner wants a one step and was curious if you found any of the current one-steps lacking on ultra hard paint? I'm thinking about hitting it with 3D Speed but if that doesn't wow I may bail to a 2 step at my expense. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Only way to know for sure is to do a test spot.
Don't assume that the paint is the same 17 years later.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Aat505 is said to have a bit more cut than speed(says mike phillips).
I dont know what products/pads you have at your disposal so its hard to reccomend to try. But i will mention a thought....i had someone want a one step b4. And a polish didnt seem to get me where i was happy with the result on a test spot...so i went with a compound(menz400) that finishes down so well that i was happy and sent it out the door.
I would advise against doing a two step if they are only paying for a one step...mainly cuz you are losing money

So true!
Goes to show that it is necessary to have mulitple combos at ones disposal just incase that what you thought you might need might not be enough to do the job...or vise versa
