Help!!! Can i polish only one part of my hood?

Definately want to go least aggressive method first (testing), this means a polish with medium cut pad (pad supplier will have a chart showing which colour too use). You can increase correction speed with more agressive pads or polishes/compounds. Assuming the affected area is small, it is golden opportunity to learn some important knowledge. Good luck.

Thank you learned a lot i will do it as soon i have time. Yeah never polish a car and only used my DS for sealant.

I will start with the foam pad good to know i was about to use the MF pad. It black foam pad thats has little contours on them kinda looks like the one 3M makes forgot what brand it was, but i remember is said something about polish pad. I was confused when the detailing store guy recommend it for selant or wax though.

A saw this post yesterday and thought the question was answered in the second and third post and now we're on 2 pages. All good stuff too...

I think I'll move it out of the forum group for wetsanding since you're not actually wetsanding your new car. Probably a better fit for the generic catch-all forum group called Detailing 101.
