Well, make that 3 people this week! LC thin foamed wool pad + GG6 + Meguires M101 = "Well, that certainly looks a bit splotchey..."
Not a big deal, just messing about on our 'Practice' car; black 2007 Mazda3. Got Zaino'd once back in 2007, maybe 10 runs thru a car wash since that time, sat outside in driveway most of its life.
Thought maybe paint was a bit oxidized so went aggressive trying to get it to that deep, dark, inky black of our other cars. Oops...
And this is how we (well, me, anyway) learn.
Since April car has seen Wolfgang Twins and Uber Ceramic, D300 and Megs microfiber cutting disks and HD Poxy, some more polishing with WG Finishing Glaze topped with Collinite 915 and now a try with M101 and first the thin wool, then LC Orange foam and topped with Dodo Juice Purple Haze. Looks good except for that, uh, splotches on the trunk. Still not a deep, dark black...looks great and shiny in garage but a bit washed out 8n sun/daylight. Eh, trading it in this fall anyway.
A car only has so much clearcoat to give for the sake of learning!

Wouldn't it be nice if while a car was being painted on the assembly line they could spray one more coat?
Or give people the option to order their car with extra clear?
