Working on the black trim underneath the windshield wipers on a 2013 Sienna today. Somehow the trim had faded and looked like it had some white spots on it. For some reason I decided to try a magic eraser and it made it worse.

I had heard of the peanut butter trick so I taped off a portion of the trim and broke out the "Skippy" creamy PB (Fuel the Fun). I took my time and slowly worked it into the trim. My friends say "picture" or it didn't happen.

Not really sure of some (trim's)/plastics' tolerance
to the types of fats, protein, carbohydrates, fiber,
and other nutrients found in peanut butter...

However:
There is a well-known correlation between
peanut butter and flatulence.

As such:
Here's hoping nothing blows up in the face
of this particular peanut butter application.

Mothers Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner would've fixed it for real. It's good stuff.

It's the oils from a the peanuts doing that. I've put wax on mines and it's kept it black for some time,

If someone wants to send a small sample of what they think will work the best, there is plenty of room to try another product and see how it compares. We can look at the results after the application is applied and weekly and see how long it lasts.

Some, not all, recommend products they have never used or just poo poo a product because it's not what the "professional detailers" use. I will be willing to take pictures after the initial application and every week and post them in this thread. Have a great week!

Well, I already advised you as to what'll work..
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not some fanboy who recommends stuff I've never tried.. Heck, I don't really care for anything Mothers makes except for this product, so I'm about the furthest thing from a Mothers fanboy as you'll ever find. All I know is this stuff flat out works, and that's all I care about.
And since that's textured trim, pick up some of this Turtle Wax Endura Trim Coat to follow it up.

Actually Bob I'm not trying to push anything. I just thought I would post something I tried. I never knew people would get so uptight just because I used a non conventional product. If admin wants to close this thread it's certainly ok with me. Over and out.
