    1 inch polisher pads/backing plates

Hey guys. I don't know if you watched the latest video Larry Kosilla put out this week but he really sold me on the 1 inch polisher.

Now, my issue is that I don't have access to compressed air so I was wondering if there was an electric equivalent of that tool.

Maybe put a 1 inch backing plate with 1 inch pads on a small machine like the Griot's garare 3 inch? Would that be possible?

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

Here is a link to the video if you haven't watched it yet:

Closest i can get you is the harbor freight 2" orbital sander. Backing plate is likely the same thread as griots da.

Did a Google search and have not found anything yet. Hopefully someone else will have an answer.

Slowing the video and pausing it, its a Rupes of some sort.

Found these two under the Rupes site:
Rupes TA 50 Mini random orbital sander

Rupes LD 30 Mini orbital sander

With 1" being 2.54cm that means the second one is a tad over 1"

How about Windex's Sonic scrubbers? lol

He is using a TA50. At the moment I haven't seen an electrical equivalent.

    -Exchange the TA50's ~2" BP, for an LHR75 3" BP (that's designed for 3, 3.5, and 4" pads.)

(In the video: Sure doesn't look like 1" BP/pads.)

The machines in the video are the Rupes LD30 (30MM) and the Rupes TA50 with the 2" backing plate. I've been looking at these a lot lately.......

You won't find an electric that's the size of the air powered ones, just look at the size difference between the LHR75 and LHR75e.

The TA50 is great for pillars and tight areas. If it's in your budget and you have air, I highly suggest checking it out. Kevin Brown carries them and has been custom making 2" pads for them for well over a year now.
