Is the TA50 a 50mm machine that runs 2" pads?

OK here is a trick I used with 2" pads and sanding discs which I plan on using with my 1" and 2" pads. I use a rotary polisher with a drill chuck attachment that I attach to a flexible shaft . These are available at most automotive supply stores (I got mine at Princess Auto). I set the rotary at the desired speed (usually fairly low to start) and use the flexible shaft as an extension. You can precision buff and the rotary doesn't move much. It's not a pretty sight balancing the rotary while you try to precesion polish but it works.

That TA50 looks REALLY nice but it costs a pretty penny. I've seen similar pneumatic mini-DA's with the same body for about $150 shipped and they come with 30/50/70mm backing pads. I'm sure the guts are the same as far as bearings and phenolic vanes (and same exhaust muffler). Really cheap units like Harbor Freight just don't have the same muffler set up so most of their stuff sounds like it's hitting a rev limiter and you definitely needs ear plugs.
