Extension cord
Hello, I need a new extension cord and would like your input. I plan to run my Mytee HP60 off it as well as a Flex polisher.
I want to make sure to choose the right amp and volt, etc.
Thanks.

Re: Extension cord
here you go, near bottom of page shows a chart, whenever possible use the SHORTEST cord you can get away with, if you can get away with 20 feet don't pull out a 100 foot cord. also remember bigger the GAUGE the SMALLER the WIRE is.

That depends...
The HP60 requires a 20 amp grounded circuit and has a 12 gauge grounded cord. A flex 3401 pulls 900 watts - 7 amps. To run both simultaneously probably would require a 10 gauge cord and a 30 amp circuit.
I paid $110 for my 100 ft 10 gauge extension cord. I.e. it's pricey. Do you have a 30 amp circuit available?
Dan.

Re: Extension cord
Presumably he's not going to be polishing at the same time he's extracting, but as you noted it's about the circuit not the cord. Sounds like you need an electrician, OP.

Is it a 20-amp circuit?

Re: Extension cord
You can run your Mytee HP 60 with a quality 12/3 extension cable. This is assuming you have a 20amp circuit with nothing else on it. Meaning, you can't have a blow dryer running on the same circuit.
Most homes have either a 15amp or 20amp circuit. The HP60 at maximum will have moments of draw that is close to 20amps.
You cannot use the HP60 and Flex at the same time. You may use them one at a time.
Ideally, use a 20 amp circuit and 12/3 extension cable for the HP60. Then a seperate circuit with 14/3 for the Flex.

Re: Extension cord
I think it is 20 amp but how do I make sure? Just look at fuse?
I do not plan on operating both machines at same time.

Re: Extension cord
Yes, check out the fuse or circuit breaker. It should be 20amps and wired with 12Awg. In my above post I meant 12/2 and 14/2 wire.
