    What Speed...?

Do you run your Megs Microfiber Cutting discs at on the da?

I just completed a full cut and buff on an 08 Vette and totally ruined 4 5" mf cutting discs with my PCXP on speed 5.

Trashing $40 worth of pads really lowers the bottom line...

    Re: What Speed...?

Garry this is funny cause I used them for the first time this weekend......long story but I have the GG6 and the pc.

I used the groits for the 5"pads and the pc for 3" pads.......

Groits.....4-4 1/2 and it worked very well i might say.....

My pc with 3" pads I had to run at 5 crazy....not sure why!

theres a long story on my take of these mf pads and I hope to get them out there soon......Mrs07 was in charge of the camera and she dosn't take direction very well.

I run them on 5 on the PC. After three or four corrections the foam is starting to tear.

Can't wait for the optimum cutting pads to come out....someday

    Re: What Speed...?

I run them on 5 as well. Sounds like you got a sour batch my friend, ha. That's strange. I've used mine over and over again after cleaning them up.

I've heard of people saying they separate, but I've never had that issue. Hmmmm

Nothing wrong with the batch, the mf pads don't work well under heavy pressure or it is they have been cleaned but not properly dried before use on a da. Lighten up the pressure and make sure they are totally dry.

I've used mine on full blast on pcxp and gg with no problems.

    Re: What Speed...?

Used them on numerous vehicles and about 10 vettes on speed 6 on my pc and no problems. I do like how whenever someone complains about a product it is always the products fault, never the user of the product. It is easier to point blame towards someone or something else than admit fault. One thing you need to do with these pads is to keep them very clean or you will ruin them.

    Re: What Speed...?

Use the pads on speed 5 and even 6 on the PCXP. I still have 3 month old pads that are still kicking. Not sure if it is because I am running a rotary adapter to run a rotary backing plate. I have noticed a bit less of heat transfer this way, but still experimenting.

Do you think the extra bite from the compound that you were using on the vette was making the difference ? We used fairly heavy pressure and it seemed to warm up some but was OK. This was with the 3" and 5' m/f's. We slowed down the speed as we increased pressure. Feel free to give PorscheGuy a shout for more info.

    Re: What Speed...?

I use mine at speed 4 but on the Griots DA.

Have seen the disc fall apart from using at speed 4.5 on the Griots DA.

I would think that speed 5 on the PCXP should be fine.
