A tip FOR the Pros!....and anyone else :)

Okay so I am working on my wife's car. She has Ohio State floormats:

Well after a few years the fabric is really frayed. Well I am tired of seeing the long strands and was pondering a quick fix. Enter in my new fabric detailing tool!!!!:

HAHA. I know weird right? But it does an awesome job!!! After the clippers and fabric cleaner these things look brand new, no frays! I used the clippers on frayed S10 seats as well and wal-la!

Try it out and leave some feedback!

    Your local amateur - Mark

LOL that's a pretty unique idea and I never thought of it. Any issues with the mats falling apart after doing this?

What plastic attachment do you use? #2? #5? None (#1)?
My Versa probably looks better than yours

No attachment necessary my friends! Although you could pull off a mean fade

Mats are holding up just fine!

Good thing is its not like hair and it grows back thicker and faster lol

I think I might put some old school lightening bolts in my mats!

Or some automotive logos. Shaving a Chevy Bowtie into some plain carpet mats doesn't seem like it would be too difficult.

You can also buy a clothes shaver for around 10 - 15 bucks. Amazon carries them. Has a guard so you don't snag or cut below the surface.

Here's a great example of why we should always be open to learning new ideas, procedures or in this case a use of a tool not normally used in the car detailing world...

    Great post!
