I know this is a little old, but I would like to start offering opti coat 2.0 and eventually opti coat pro. So just to clarify, even though it suggests doing an IPA wipe down before opti coat its not really needed after the polishing step? Water and a MF is all that is needed?

When using Optimum polishes, an IPA wipe down is not necessary. If you are using another brand (Menzerna, Meguiars, 3M, etc) an IPA wipe down is required before application of the coating.
Optimum polishes = wipe down with a damp microfiber towel
Other brand polishes = IPA wipe down

A mix of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water, typically mixed at a dilution close to 20:1 water/IPA. It removes oils left behind from the polishing process to ensure a surgically clean surface. Very important when applying permanent coatings in order facilitate proper bonding with the paint.

I would suggest doing a lot of searching and reading up - there is a ton of really good information on this board about coatings. Since finding this place, I spent a lot of time just reading Mike Phillips how to articles and watching new posts and have had many of my questions (and many I didn't know I had) answered.
