Re: Cabin Air Filter for ur Car or Truck
Oh you have no idea....BMW has been putting those things in since the late 80s, and believe it or not, I have seen some where they have not been changed in 10+ years! The filters get so clogged, NO AIR was coming through the vents when I first got my car! Changed it out, and also had to vacuum out the area. The problem with the older bimmers is that to change them out, you have to remove the glove box, then remove a floor vent, some other trim piece, then pull the cover to remove the filter (which is essentially located in the center of the dash next to the firewall). They quickly realized their mistake and moved it to the engine bay making the change just as easy as changing the engine air filter (if not easier at times).

Re: Cabin Air Filter for ur Car or Truck
I have a 2003 Mustang Cobra, and I haven't found any mention of a cabin filter when I check the parts sites. I don't have access to the Ford Manual I bought. If there is one, I'd love to change it.

My husband's Dodge Ram 1500 doesn't have one either. I guess it is just certain vehicles. Honda's are the main ones I know about.

Re: Cabin Air Filter for ur Car or Truck
Just changed them in all four cars this weekend. Regardless of the car be careful on how much you pay. There are some basic differences in quality but if you change it regularly (once a year) or if you live in a very dusty area once ever six months use the less expensive ones. Always try to find the Charcoal Activated as it will eliminate odors much better.
Example of my four Vehicle change:
If I had purchased them from the dealer they would of been $392 for all four not installed over the counter as parts. I was able to buy all four for $68 and if I hand gone on line and subtracted taxes and added shipping I could of saved another $7.00.
Remember Buy the least expensive CHARCAOL ACTIVATED one available for your car and change it on the intervals as stated above.

Y'all shamed me into buying one for the wifes CRV. 10 bucks off Ebay. Only 25,000 miles late.

The nice thing about the CRVs is all you have to do is take out to clips that hold in the glove box and go. Unfortunately the 1st generation Pilots aren't so easy.
