So last weekend I decided it was time for mid summer polish and LSP. After doing a test spot on my single stage black hood stripes I settled on Menzerna 3800 on dark grey pad on the Porter Cable DA. Final Product was Collenite 845 Insulator wax. Did the flat surfaces first and no issues. I did over 2 days so taking my time 2-3 hours per day. Roof, hood, trunk, rear bumper and passenger rear door on first day. All going good except noticed some "cupping" on the dark grey pad when cleaning. Next day did rest of car and the front bumper was the last thing. I had switched to White Pad because only had 1 dark grey. All was fine until I did the front bumper. While doing a section the pad began to bulge and slow down on rotation. Took a reading by hand on the surface for heat and was OK. Carried on. The pad actually delaminated right off 50% of the velcro after resuming. Peeled off polisher and front of CCS pad was cool, velcro was almost too hot to touch (it was at this point 3/4 unglued from foam).
Lesson learned-when pollishing plastic pull pad and check for heat on the velcro not just the face of the pad.
By the way the waxed final result was my best so far on my DD.
