nanoskin sponge: first time user. pictures and question
I bout the combo package here: red medium and blue fine. It's supposed to be better than clay:
The project car is neglected and while washed regularly, never clayed in 10 years. Thus I started with red medium sponge.
The good news: It really cleans. Seams to remove dirt from low points of paint where the regular brushes and sponges fail. See the clean upper panel compared to lower one. The lower one is grayish/yellowish despite heavy duty wash with with Down soap.
The bad news: the sponge looks very sorry after just one car!. I don't see how can it last 20-30 as advertised. Compare the used red one to new blue one.
One question for experts here. Should I follow up with fine sponge (blue) or jump straight to polishing?
Thanks!

You had to use that red one pretty rough to get it into that shape...

Did you break them in first and you really have to make sure you use enough detail spay. You should be pushing hard anyways.

I think that is normal as mine looks similar to that as well. I just chalk it up to the red being more abrasive than the blue so the facings aren't the same.
Yes, after red, go straight to polishing. In fact, I did just that yesterday!
P.S. Who is that sexy beast in that video?

Thanks for your youtube video. That convinced me to do nanoskin vs clay.
