New to polishing and need help/advice!
Hello! i am new to polishing but i have a bit of knowledge about it. So i tried out Meguiars ultimate compound and polish to work on a car. I used a beginners Turtle Wax 3500rpm orbital polisher and after being done with a test spot, i saw minimal results!! so i am wondering if its either the orbital polisher that doesn't have enough power or its either the paint on the car that makes it difficult to remove swirls and scratches.

I have seen Mike Phillips refer to this as a wax spreader if that answers your question.

Yeah that orbital is going to get you close to 0 results, it would be wise and is almost necessary to buy a da polisher. Mike does have a thread about this somewhere.

I agree with everyone here. You would actually get BETTER results working by hand than using that cheap orbital machine. You can apply alot more pressure by hand.
I read on your earlier post that you were 15? If your funds permit, I recommend a basic DA polisher. I think many here have stated that you can get a pretty decent one at Harbor Freight for like $50 bucks.
Its real easy to use and you will get the results your looking for. Best of luck kid.

Dear stemyx
I don't know if it's still the case, but when I bought my polisher in about December of 2011, the Griot's was a better value.
If you happen to live near me, you're welcome to borrow mine.

Please be careful with your new Porter Cable ., This is a much more powerful machine than your orbital.
Read all the safety instructions.
Be careful when rag or brush cleaning your pads on the fly and the steel cup will remove finger nails.
Just saying, It might be a good idea to let your dad go over safety issues with you
