Rejex on top of Flitz metal polish. IPA wipedown needed?
I shined up my set of machined aluminum wheels (no clear coat) with Flitz metal polish and Buff Ball. I then removed the residue and buffed with microfiber cloth.
Plan on applying Rejex polymer coating for protection. Before doing this, should I wipe down wheels with diluted isopropyl alcohol solution? Don't know if this would step would remove any benefit created with Flitz polish (like shine for instance).
OR should I apply Rejex without IPA wipedown? Curious if Rejex bonding to metal/ durability is affected with layer of metal polish on wheel.... Sent emails to manufacturers with same questions, waiting for reply.

Received reply from Rejex:
Good question. Probably not a bad idea to wipe town the buffed wheels with something to remove any trace of residual polish. RejeX does contain a little solvent, so it will help clean. But RejeX will seal stains and other foreign material IN as well as it seals them OUT.
So yes, if there were polish residue on the wheel and you RejeXed over it, 1) you might see that residue sealed in and 2) because the RejeX would bond over the polish rather than on top of the metal, it could conceivably flake off with the polish.
I have usually just washed and rinsed thoroughly after polishing. On boats, I use acetone. So acetone, vinegar/water or alcohol/water would probably all be a good post-polish wipedown to make sure you had a pristine surface upon which to apply RejeX.

Glad you received a response from the Rejex folks!!
But I wonder why they didn't recommend their:
Xtreme Clean product for your scenario...
