BMW Matte Paint Care Instructions from the factory...
Matte Paint Care Inx from the factory...
BMW Individual Frozen Paint Guidelines:
Matt Russell, BMW NA M Brand and ALPINA Manager, and Tim Reiter, BMW Body & Paint Technical Specialist, tell us more about the washing and maintenance process of the matte paint colors.
Among many tips for those owners with “frozen” paint finishes, here are a few that stand out:
- Use a regular shampoo and insect remover
- Microfiber cloth, wax, sealant and final inspection cleaner can damage the matte paint
- Do not polish or wax the vehicle
- No mechanical means of cleaning the surface
- Remove insect remains, tar and other residues immediately

Re: BMW Matte Paint Care Instructions from the factory...
So you can wash your paint by foaming it, then rinsing it off, and then your best bet is to peg out that speedometer to dry off. Anything else will ruin your car's finish... Just when I thought "what would be harder to take care of than a black car", I guess I spoke too soon.

SV is usually really expensive, but in this case, I think I'd be willing to pay a premium for a trusted name.

Re: BMW Matte Paint Care Instructions from the factory...
I picked up a satin black spoiled the either day, he backed into something and there's several white scratch type residue left, looks like it'd buff right off but I wasn't sure what to do due to no clear coat, I was just going to hope the claybar would work, what do you guys think

Re: BMW Matte Paint Care Instructions from the factory...
I have a Kawasaki ZX10r motorcycle that is satin titanium gray. It's actually a ti base coat with an egg shell clear coat. I did not know there were products for that paint! Being a motorcycle I just wash it with car wash and dry it with a leaf blower. But you cannot polish a scratch out it will make it shiny. Ask me how i know. It looks great at dusk like raw metal, but it’s a high upkeep finish and it starts looking ratty after a while. Mine still looks great though.
