As much as everyone loves videos. I gotta ask. Didn't you use the same lines.. VERBATIM on how to apply a sealant (Wolfgang if I recall) to your car. (straight line technique, "breaking the polish" (twist)) etc?

Maybe I'm just having deja vu. I could have sworn you mentioned the "first time ever, straight line technique is explained" in that one too. Doesn't this make this the second time or more?

Pretty much, that's because the techniques will work with both types of LSP's...

Kind of, but outside the forum world you never know who might see one video but not the other video?

And as far as I know, in both these videos, it's the first time the reason why to use straightlines has ever been explained. I've seen people recommend using straightlines all the time but they never explain why...

I typed up the reason why in 1994 on the Usenet Newsgroups, long before this thing called a "Discussion Forum" was ever invented as documented in the below article...

Discussion Forums - A relatively "new" invention...

At the end of the day, people can find a way that works best for them...

Sometimes I switch from one technique to a different technique just to refresh my my skill sets and my memory to better be able to write about and demonstrate all kinds of detailing techniques...

Ahh Usenet. Gotta love it. I think I have posts dating back to 1994 if I search for my old (probably first) email address.

I was just asking why it was explained (verbatim) twice. You're right that it's not explained often enough why straight line application is preferred though I *HAVE* seen it mentioned (rarely). In fact, I think Sal Zaino had mentioned it in a few places over the years.

Now that I've said his name, I'm fully expecting a forum meltdown.
