    Leather scrub brush question

I usually just do a basic interior cleaning on personal cars but figured I'd try and get a little more in depth. I purchased this scrub brush...

Vinyl & Leather Scrub Brush Buy One, Get One Free!

it appears to be a little tougher than I'd expect. I read the article on the page and it address's my question. However could I do damage to the leather with this brush? Would you use it on the vinyl dash? I feel like I'm scratching the hell out of the leather with this brush. Obviously I put a cleaner down to lubricate the leather in conjunction with the brush. I feel like maybe I should just stick to using a microfiber towel with the cleaner.

I rather have a decently cleaned leather than a perfectly clean leather that is damaged if that makes sense.

    Thanks guys as always.

It is rather stiff but it does work well and haven't notice it scratch.

But if you could get away agitating it with a softer brush or a microfiber that would be better.

I use this brush more for nasty interiors.

I bought this one not super stiff but seems like it will be very good. Haven't used it yet though.

Have you tried soaking the bristles for a little while before using, to soften them up? IIRC correctly, that was the trick to using these kinds of brushes.

    Re: Leather scrub brush question

You should always avoid scrubbing leather.using a low pH such as Ultima interior gel.Spray and massage it into the leather. That brush you have there is for cleaning finger nails.I use the fabulous brush works everytime with no damage or color removal.Using that over stitched leather will be a potential promblem. You can soak that brush till 2020 and it will not be softer.

    Re: Leather scrub brush question

It all depends on the severity of dirt and grime in the leather that will determine what type of brush needed for the job.Sonax very good on leather or boars hair for a general skim cleaning or the fabulous detail brush for more of intricate tight creases in leather.90 percent of the time the fabulous brush is what I reach for.I just wish they made the head bigger.

    Re: Leather scrub brush question

I just picked one up as well and was suprised at the stiffness. I don't think I'll be using it on leather, maybe carpets or something tougher
