To buy flex pe-8 or buy extensions
What's up everyone ! So considering buying the flex pe-8 with a 2 inch backing plate for hard to get spots but my question is I happen to have an extra rotary laying around couldn't I just get the extension bars that Autogeek offers and work with those? I mean the flex is a lot nicer because of size and weight but at the same time to save 175 bucks right now doesn't sound half bad as well, do any of you guys just run the extension bars?

I use the short extensions on a Flex PE-14 and on the PE-8 the PE-14 is really nice and smooth even with two extensions.

I just ordered a PE-8 the Makita sure does get heavy trying to polish small tight areas lol I wanted the PE-8 specifically to use with 1-2 inch pads.

To answer your question, yes you could, providing your rotary is 5/8" thread.

That's the one thing I'm worried about is it getting extreamly heavy

If your other rotary is anything but a PE14 it will be too awkward and top heavy to deal with the smaller pads.

I have the PE-8 with the extension and 1"-2" and 3" backing plates and pads and I love it. I don't think you would regret that at all.
