Cloth seats + steamer. What is your method?

Yes, a huge tip is to ALWAYS put a towel over the head of your steamer when scrubbing cloth.
I have destroyed fabric, in the past, by not doing so. An incredible amount of heat comes out of the tip, and is underestimated sometimes.

I don't use steam on seats unless they are horrible.
and extractor is the proper tool for this job. Or even a good shop vac will work great. You need to get water/soap into the fabric and suck it out.
A steamer is for the surface and you don't want to "burn" the fabric.
So just spray some cleaner then steam it lightly and wipe or vacuum.
I never cover my steamer head.
