Some things I have learnt from Autogeek Forums

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd share some of the things I have learnt since coming across these excellent forums a little while ago.

I have always enjoyed maintaining my car however since stumbling across Autogeek I feel it's gone to a higher level. I downloaded Mike's Detailing E-book and if the forum's "search" link was a physical button it would be worn out by now

After much research I spent about $300 in the Autogeek store on a various products, and have slowly been trying them out whenever I get free time on the weekends.

Tips such as the two bucket wash, sheeting water off the car to minimize drying time and finding out about drying towels (I used synthetic chamois before) have lessened the wash time and improved the results. The drying towel is amazing, how did I not know these existed before??!

Another product I was blown away by was Carpro Iron X. I did a quick detail on my sister's heavily neglected R32 Nissan Skyline and this stuff bought her wheels back to life. I couldn't believe how good they looked. It also worked great on the white paint on my Kia. In the past I regularly clay barred my paint but there was always tiny orange/brown dots left over and I never knew what they were........now I know they were iron deposits! The Iron X took care of them too.

After washing the car today I had some free time so I polished the bonnet and roof with Menzerna PF2500 on a white LC flat pad then topped it off with some Wolfgang Paint Sealant 3.0. It came up great, removing all the small swirls with only some RIDS remaining.

I'm really looking forward to polishing my wife's black Merc whenever I can spend about 12 hours straight on it! The plan is Menzerna FG500 on an orange LC CCS pad, then SF4000 on a black flat pad, followed by Wolfgang 3.0 topped with Wolfgang Fuzion. Can't wait

    Thanks, here's a few pics....

    Wheels before.

Wheels with Iron X applied. I did 3 applications in total as they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.

    Wheels after.

Here are a few snaps of the bonnet and roof of my car after polishing. It's a white Kia Cerato Koup (Kia Forte in the US).

And a few of the products I used.

    Thanks for looking!
