Once it is washed and dried you'll know much better what you're dealing with. It looks like you'll need to start with a clay if it hasn't been detailed before and a medium cut polish with the orange pad. I'd start there.

I think its crazy how long rookies like you and I spend on a car (my truck took about 15 hrs) and than justin whips one out in like 2.5 hrs.
But thats a great improvement...

Yeah that's a big difference. It may not be showroom new since it has been neglected and it is 9 years old, but I am confident that you will turn it around to where it will be as close to new as possible.

hahahahahahaha That thing was a MESS!!! AUdakota talks about 15 hour details, but I think I might take the forum record for longest detail with my 6 days on that damn beetle! lol
I want to do a full detail on my own car, but I doubt I will be able to find the time until summer break comes. I know it will take me a couple of days to get it up to snuff, (I work slow too), but when I find the time and get her done, I'll be sure to post plenty of pics.

thank you for your support. it will take a while. i am going after it peice by peice. it hasnt even seen wax in like 5 years - literally. we bought it off ebay and nothing has been done to it since the last owners sold it to us.
