Re: How to restore the black on my black car?
polishing the paint will indeed help but some birdie doo-doo with etch paint and likely could be deeper needing wet-sanding. I would grab the buffer some Menzerna polishes and see how it turns out first. You can always hire someone to professionally wetsand if you feel the difference and removal of spots didnt meet expectation

Rinse the car down with water to removes as much of the dust and loose particles and debris. Next get a bucket of soapy water and a wash mitt and give it a thorough washing. Go over each panel with a clay bar and soapy solution.
The car in no doubt will need a full detail including paint correction. Keep realistic goals and expectations especially if it's an older car and a daily driver.
Here's a top level link that's pretty handy full of great information to point you in the right direction.

Re: How to restore the black on my black car?
Alright, well thanks. I was planning on claying the car, using a swirl remover and polish and glaze and then waxing it. Does anyone know what to put after it to make it super glossy? Doesn't matter if its for 1 day only, i can keep putting it when i go out. I will only use this car at least 1 time a week.
Will Meguiars Mirror Glaze #4 Heavy-Cut Cleaner work good on a part where they painted the hood and they left overspray on my passenger door.
Thanks for the info.
