Re: Etching/ Stain removal
What is that, a bird poop etch? You can try 105, but be careful it's not etched to the primer (kind of hard to tell because of the focus).
This was just being discussed in this thread: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...nt-defect.html

Re: Etching/ Stain removal
I guess so...problem is that I have 3 spots like that..
Long story short...this is my daily ride to work that I leased for 5 years.
This is the 4th and I am figuring that I will purchase it at the end..
So I wasn't too careful , and most likely let it baked in at one time or another
So this is how I got evolved with learning to detail
Anyway...I'm going to spot buff with a 4" pad and M105 to see if I can remove them
How long should I try to buff it out before its damaged..
Mike
P.S.- I can always turn it in next year

Re: Etching/ Stain removal
Can you take another picture with better focus? A trick is to put your finger on the paint next to the defect so you can focus on that instead of the reflection. Honestly right now it looks pretty bad and I'd be afraid that polishing would make it worse. Try and take another pic.

Well, that doesn't look too good. IMO polishing isn't going to help that.

Looks like CLEARCOAT failure to me, polishing won't remove that.
I recommend that you don't even want to polish that area

Re: Etching/ Stain removal
OK...that known
I know I cant polish over it
Can I continue to wash and wax without it peeling?
