Headlight restoration and noobie DA work

Recently picked up a neglected 2005 NBP 6MT for a pretty good price. It needed paint correction as well as some serious work to the headlights.
Here is what I began with.

I wet sanded from 220-2000 grit. Then applied a mixture of spar urethane and mineral spirits with a paper towel. Thanks to this forum! I couldn't be more happy with the results.

As far as the paint goes, i'm bummed i didn't get any before pics. But it was horrible. Half the car had serious hard water etching that wasn't even phased by the clay. I picked up a Harbour Freight DA and with a cutting pad and some PB SSR2.5 I had laying around, I was able to remove most of the etching. I have tons of respect for you guys, learning was more difficult than anticipated. in the end I was able to remove maybe 75% of the defects. It still has a long way to go compared to the pics you all throw up. This spring I'd like to try a microfiber cutting pad and some SSR2.5 or possibly Meg 105 and see what that is capable of. It's wonderful to have a place like this to seek knowledge from.
