When does everyone decide u need to sand the finish your working on before compounding and Polish

The majority of all wetsanding is done on fresh paint after you get a custom paint job. The paint on a custom paint job is thicker and softer for the first few days and thus easier to compound without risk.
Take a moment to read my article on this as there is a LOT of confusion on the topic of sanding paint.

Thanks Mike for the info I was leaning more to the when to sand a scratch but I guess it all goes back to your thread.... I was working on a black Harley guy wanted all of the scratches out id menz 2000 orange pad checked hit it one more time then went to menz 4000 then black and 4500 looks great I just get picky and try to get it all but I guess I can't rwally do much more.....
