    Menzerna SF4500 or SF4000

    Which polish to get. I have M105/M205 twins but need something finer. Is Sf4500 too fine. Is sf4000 enough with black pad.

    Thoughts

    Both will provide you with beautiful finishes. SF4000 has a little more cut, but it will finish the same as SF4500 according to Menzerna.

    Any finishing pad should suit you well, so depending on your DA, a LCC grey/black or blue pad would work fine.

    I have SF4000 and love it.

    Just concerned that SF4000 is too close to M205

    Based on your original post that you are looking for something finer than M205, I would go with SF4500. SF4000 is pretty close to M205 on the polishing cut chart.

    M205 = 4
    SF4000 = 3
    SF4500 = 2

    Higher number is more cut.

    SF4000 finishes identicle in gloss to SF4500, but SF4000 gets there faster.

    Interesting. I only ask because M205 can't seem to get out micro scratches on my dad's 2004 BMW 325i. Figure finer is better but from what you say no real added benefit from SF4500

    with ZUBAIR

    Either of those polishes should get out "micro scratches" so i don't really understand. You may not be finishing out the polish correctly. May want to look up Mike's technique for that.

    As far as the correct Menzerna i would look at the chart on AG

    http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/autog...hart-2013.jpg\

    Both finish to the same gloss but one has more cut than the other. If you find it's not removing the scratches then i'd go with the higher one. Ala

    I had the same issues with M205 not finishing out properly on my '07 jet black 335i. I tried out Wolfgang FG and it finished out flawless.

    I put my vote on SF4000 or FG with a white pad. Either one will give you the needed cut to pull out any micro marring while finishing out to an impeccable standard.

    For me SF4500 is reserved after a round of SF4000 to extract the maximum gloss from the paint.
