2005 Morgan Aero 8 extensive correction, wheels off, and CQuartz Finest coating

A very good client brought in this beauty for a lot of work, and it needed it. After being in the local Morgan Service Center (read: in a barn up a 2 mile dirt road....not kidding) for a few months getting some repairs and replacement parts it was looking pretty rough. This car was ordered in 1999 and was completed in 2003. They got as far as prepping it for shipping before things went horribly wrong....the forklift driver impaled the car dead center. Yep, you read that right. So Morgan took it back, repaired all the damage and re-bodied the car and delivered it 2 years later. So for a client who waited 6 years for his car, I was going to give it the full white glove treatment.

Arrived. Doesn't look to bad right? Well stay tuned....

The headlight had to be replaced, and it came with a courtesy wipedown....that wasn't so courteous

All sorts of deep pigtail scratches on the large fenders

Up in the air and the wheels off

Half the wheel cleaned, and half the tire stripped. Suppose you could call that a 50/50... They would look much nicer when done.

It had less than stellar detailing in its past

Taking some readings on paint thickness.

Just a quick compounding 50/50 as I dialed in the exact combo to yield the best results on this very very soft paint.

Some direct light on the headlight replacement wipedown. Not good.

    Starting to make some progress...

Grill removed....paint was pretty wrecked underneath

CQuartz Finest applied and cured for a great look and protection for a long time. Now outside for final pictures

Payoff for the grill removal and polishing. Though the clear film on the bumper could have used replacement as the edges of film were lifting in a few spots and looked an unsightly white. Owner will re-wrap it later.

Love this shot, with the exception of the scratched paint protection film below the door that was far beyond repair.

    Thanks for checking it out!

    Awesome work!

Poor thing was in desperate need of a fine detail indeed. I know these Morgans get a hard time about the styling & the whole cross eyed headlight look but for me, I dunno . . . I'd quite like one in my garage.

    Stunning detail mate, top work!

Very nice turn around, crazy how beat up that paint got from the service center.

Thanks everyone. Combo for this was MF cutting 5" with 101/205, medium polishing with PO203 on LC tangerine, final polishing with 85RD on LC black.

Gosh that is a hard one on this car..... the bonnet was VERY hard to do. It was hard to reach the center because the fenders are SO wide. Also its super flexible because the aluminum is so thin. And the edges were very sharp at the leading edge and had to be taped as there was no way to polish without burning the edge. The old clear film did not like being corrected, was a fight the whole time.
