Re: Detailed: 2013 BMW M5 - Black Sapphire Metallic - HRE Wheels
I have an honest question as a new guy in detailing. Does a microfiber pad remove way more clear coat than an orange LC pad would, or can you run lesser section pass compared to using the foam one and get away with it? Thanks!

Nice job though Mark, impressive as usual!
Thank you rookiez!
A microfiber pad is definitely more aggressive than a foam pad. So if you keep everything else constant such as the number of section passes, pressure and the liquid being used, the microfiber pad will remove more defects than a foam pad. If you want to achieve the same % defect removal between microfiber pad and foam pad (all other variables held constant), you will need less time and consequently less section passes with the microfiber pad than the foam pad.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Mark, I've always thought that microfiber pad would cut my work time that it worths for the investment as of right now. However, since most of the car I'm working on aren't more than 5/6 years old to begin with, I'd say the microfiber pad will just decrease the paint thickness of my clients substantially for their new cars.
