Maserati GranTurismo C
2013 Maserati GranTurismo C, Blu Oceano
I had a customer contact me about his recent purchase. He picked up a 2013 Maserati GranTurismo C, in Blue Oceano, sight unseen.
I spoke with him over the phone as he was out of town. We went over some options and I asked what he was interested in. He wanted to get the paint looking as good as possible without any paint work or extreme measures.
Fast forward to the end of last week; I went and picked up the vehicle. Upon first sight, I was a little taken aback. The car was not in the best of shape. I mean, extremely dirty and the paint had fluid stains on it from being transported on the transport truck on the bottom with vehicle (leaking) above it.
I woke up the next morning and proceeded to get down to business:
I sprayed 1Z APC over the vehicle in an attempt to assist in breaking down some of the crud. Next up was Wolfgang Autobathe in the foam cannon. I let that dwell for a few minutes. I blasted the heavy stuff off. Sonax Fallout cleaner was applied liberally to the vehicle to chemically decontaminate the paintwork. Leaving that to do its stuff and bleed, I prepped my 2BW setup. SCG Pro surface prep wash and a micro-chenille mitt. I hand washed the surfaces. I then prepped my clay system. Medium grade Nanoskin wash mitt and Wolfgang Autobathe was used as lube. The Master Blaster was used for drying.
Now I could see what I was dealing with underneath all of the dirt/contaminants/etc. (I did not clean the wheels at this time. The wheels were coming off for a deep cleaning and coating, along with the wheel wells and brake calipers)
The paint was full of swirl marks, scratches, some deep water spot etching, scuffs and oxidation. It had been neglected.
I took my paint reading and was pleasantly surprised. I was happy with the readings. Paint had some very good ‘thickness’ to it.
Test spot: I taped off a spot on the hood for my test spot. Found a combo that worked and that I was happy with the results I was achieving. (a list of chemicals, tools, etc will be below)
The vehicle was prepped and the correction process began. About 24-26 hours later…the vehicle was completed.
The paint corrected beautifully. There is so much metallic in the paint and it is such a beautiful color. The wheels came back to almost new! The interior was cleaned and conditioned and was loving every minute of it. The engine compartment received some attention as well. The paintwork was ceramic coated and will be protected for the next 12-24 months with the proper maintenance.

Beautiful work! The car now shines like it should.
