I am of the thought it is not best to spray an engine compartment down with water or high pressure anything. There are also no leaks or buildups of any grease under my hood. It was just dirty from driving in the rain.
My technique was super simple. I took a damp terry cloth towel and wiped down anything I could get my hands on. No chemical cleaners, didnt spray anything down, didnt hose anything off. If I could touch it with the towel, I wiped it off.
Once I completed the wipe down, I took a microfiber cloth and used Blackfire AIO Trim and Tire protectant to wipe down the plastic and or rubber parts.
Thats it. I might have spent 20 minutes on it. While its hard to see in the pictures, its hardly show car perfect, but it looks detailed and mostly clean.
And I actually got some decent before and afters!
Thanks for viewing.
Best safe way of doing that.

I agree! Thats why I do it this way!
If there is a grease buildup somewhere, I'll target that area with an engine cleaner of some sort, but otherwise I try to avoid spraying the engine compartment down.

Very nice! Love the before and after pics. Looks looks more like you put in hours and hours of work instead of 20 minutes.

Great job Jaret!!! Your engine bay looks brand new! That's the same way I clean my engine bay too. Just using a damp rag and wiping anything I can reach.

Looking good Jaret! That is surely the safest way to clean an engine bay. When you say dampened terry cloth towel, what was it dampened with? BF Wet Diamond WW?
The BlackFire AIO Trim & Tire Protectant serves two functions as it cleans as well as protects. But you knew that already. Nice Choice.
Thanks for sharing.

The towel was dampened with only water.
In truth if I kept up with it more often, it would be even easier to maintain and keep looking nice.

Right off the dealership it seems. How much grease did you encounter?
