    2004 Civic Si

Did this car for my dealer friends son. I was going to surprise them and coat it with the BFCC but that failed miserably and I have to polish it again to remove that. After I was done the second time polishing I went with an old faithful Pinnacle Liquid Souveran.

    Wash: Meguiar's D111 Shampoo +
Wheels: Sonax FE (but it never changed color)
    Tires: Meguiar's Super Degreaser
Compound: FG400 and Meguiar's maroon cutting pad Flex 3401
Polish #1: HD Polish and Meguiar's Yellow polish pad
Attempted to coat with Black Fire Crystal Coat FAIL
Polish #2: Meguiar's Ultimate Polish and Yellow polishing pad
    IPA wipedown
    Wax: Pinnacle Liquid Souveran

Here are the results. I will try to post the video too so you can see the before and after of the FG400 step.

Came out great. Have any of the top surfaces been repainted on that? Honda's Crystal Black Pearl had a recall a few years ago for clear coat failure.

Looks fantastic! Love those model years for sure, as you can see in my avatar I'm a big SI fan mines a 2012 and love it. Just rolled 15,000 miles. Did you find the paint to be pretty soft?

Thanks guys. Paint is soft yes, and the rear spoiler has lost 90% of its clearcoat that's the only part of the top that has been effected at all.

I had a 2012 Si sedan in that black and the hood ended up getting "crows feet" after a year and a half.

Nice work. I am a bit curious as to why the BFCC failed , if you would like to share.

    Why, I dont know.

I applied it per the directions and it was so tacky instantly it wouldnt "level out" when wiping it with the MF towel. There are threads here and on Autopia about it flashing too fast to use.

    Crystal Coat Application Question

Here are a couple of pictures that I forgot to add the first time.

Results look good! I like to show the Pinnacle Liquid Souveran to the older guys around here because it's so easy to wipe off and that's a huge benefit.

    Here's the code,

Where you see the word CODE that's where you type or copy and paste the code in your actual YouTube Code link that starts after the = sign and ends before the quote sign.

    If that makes sense?

It's kind of confusing but forums are different.
