OCDetail - Audi Brilliant gray.. Oh wait its black

Wow I'm spoiled! I've clawed my way through the trenches of dirty cupholders and I've went round for round with some destroyed paint. I've lost a many night sleeps and probably the reason I sprouted some grey hair. But as of lately I've been kinda spoiled to almost nothing but brand new cars. And brand new cars do present a challenge because to get a dramatic difference where you blow the customer away you seriously got bring your "A" game. While this can take some time and effort, its nothing compared to cleaning 80k miles of gunk out of a never cleaned wheel or wheel well. I was very much reminded of what "hammered" paint is. So when looking this car over wondering why did I take this job... Well I'm a little embarrassed to admit I had that thought and remembered back to the day when I lived for jobs like this. A chance to really show what I'm made of. So lets get on with it!

Hello Audi! Brilliant black my old friend....

I see some compounding dust in my near future!

A closer looks shows where what I'm sure had to be tree debris that fell on the car then got wet and decomposed on the paint leaving crazy etchings everywhere

Should be a cake walk right?

    Not bad at all

    Whole car looked like this.

Wheels had to come off! You know they are bad when the Iron x goes from purple to bronze....

David Purser Unique Kar Kare stopped by and ended a hand in the final stretch. While he was prepping the wheels for coatings I was removing the Audi, and S5 badge to be polished around because it would looked horrible if I didn't

A full strength wipe down with megs wheel bright didn't do much to these exhaust tips....

Little scrub a dub with 0000 steel wool did though! Thanks for the tip David! In all seriousness he looked at me like a I was crazy I'm sitting there scrubbing this grime off by hand with metal polish... "Do you even steel wool brahh!!" And A light bulb of the simplest thing went off in my head and I realized why I had 0000 steel wool in my detailing cart. It wasn't just there to give me crazy anxiety everytime I washed towels with thoughts of it getting mixed in. It had a purpose!

Cant forget the 50/50 shot of correction going down!

Some point after this the windshield cowl was revived from gray to nice and black with Cquartz Dlux. The wheels were coated with Dlux. And the paint with Opti Coat Pro.

    Ta Da!

    er
Bad pic but its ok! Ill get more when It comes back next week. To top everything else off. Customer was blown away and super happy with the results of Cquartz Finest...
Refer to pic where I stated I coated the car with Opti Coat Pro.... DOH!!!!! So its coming back next week for removal and re install lol

    Either way Killed IT!!!! B)

    Thanks for looking

Sure first step was rotary and purple foamy wool with flat top, second step was Rupes 21 MF finishing disc and 205, 3rd was Opti primer polish on yellow rupes foam.

    What compound did you use?

And did I read this right? You applied OC pro but the customer wanted CQF? So you have the strip OC pro and apply CQF?? That sucks!!

Flat Top from shine supply... And yup... We were talking for like 3 months about OCP on his car. Then he wanted CQF and.... Well ill be polishing that off and re applying DOH! I feel silly, first time in like 1000 customers I didn't have fill out a work order before I took the keys and this happen. Reminder of why I do that, the hard way!
