It never ceases to amaze me, that people will pay $20k-$80k for a BRAND new vehicle and then give it to a detailer to remove a large portion of the clear coat, just to have their daily driver be treated like a daily driver.

And it never ceases to amaze me how some goof who works at a Mercedes dealer thinks he has the authority to speak lies about someone that he has no idea about. If you had actually bothered to read my post (which why would you when it's more fun to spread lies), you would have seen where I had described removing only a negligible amount of paint. I clearly stated that I was taking measurements before and afterward to ensure no measurable paint removal was occurring. But you say "give it to a detailer to remove a large portion of the clear coat..." How dare you. Your lies are not welcome here. Take your condescending comments and go elsewhere. You don't even post any work. That alone says everything.

Great work as usual. Burnin a good cigar while buffing a car, doesn't get much better than that!

Yes, it has been great for me and this car is the PERFECT example of why it is so needed!! You can never assume!!

FYI, 2009 and up newer Mazdas, no longer have a prImer layer. They have been combining basecoat and primer into one. It chips real easy and has extra orange peel. The first time I took readings on my Mazda I nearly had a heart attack. My readings were closer 110-125um.

If what apme123 says is true, than by taking a no clear coat reading might give you a good idea how much clear your really have.

If primer and base coat are one than total thickness might be less then normal.

What's LATA that you used on the tires? Also how do you compare CQ and CQF? I'm bummed I can't buy CQF.
