Novice Mercedes Sprinter engine bay detail.

I had a very pleasurable experience today detailing my van.I used Black Fire APC and Chemical Guys Silk Shine.I wanted to clean without a hose or pressure washer because of all the sensors and computer stuff that might get wet.I removed the air box, engine cover, and ducts.I diluted apc 10-1 and sprayed on a low cost microfiber 16 x 16 for cleaning the non removable areas. The removed parts got a mothers giant toothbrush/apc and water hose treatment. After everything was clean and dry I sprayed the removed parts with Silk Shine then wiped excess with a new micro that was then used to apply Silk to the non removed areas. To get into the areas my fingers could not I used a chopstick to move the rag with Silk on it around. As a last step I used XMT spray wax for the painted areas. As a first timer this forum had me full of confidence that I could do it.Thank you AutoGeek for such great advice and products.

    Looks very clean and new.

Was it more difficult to clean due to diesel fuel and general oiliness?

It was mostly dry bugs/wings/leaves also rustproofing wax. I still have not removed all of the wax drips because I do not know what to use that will not harm the black plastic.
