chem. guys VS wolfgang sealant and swirl remover 3.0?
Hi Guys, i want to detail my Subaru RIGHT from the ground up. I had just purchased Chem. guys 'V38' final polish to help fix the paint and 'Extreme Depth Liquid Carnauba Creme Wax + X-Seal' for a top coat..... and was still undecided on the sealant. Soon after purchasing these i found and decided to try the Wolfgang combo of 'Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0' and their 'Total Swirl Remover 3.0'.
Does anyone have experience with these 2 products (brands)? The V38 should remove my swirls but something seems very appealing to me about the Wolfgang combo. (i believe i have mild swirl marks but have no way to gauge what constitutes mild, moderate or severe swirl marks.)
I will probably still go with the WG sealant 3.0, but am not sure if i should return the V38 or use the V38 with the WG sealant?
(claybar first and i will be using the PC7424xp) .... THANKS!!

Always go with WG over anything CG for paint IMHO.

Having 1st hand experience with Chemical Guys V34, V36 and V38; they went into the trash! Not to put them down just a bad experience overall. Wolfgang's has a great reputation and I have a couple of their products and they are top notch.
I have not used their Compound/Polish, however, I hear it is very similar to Menzerna's, which I use.
IMO even though I have not used their compound/polish my guess it would be better than CG.
It was with my experience with CG V products that made me switch to Menzerna. Best thing that ever happened.
That is my experience and many here would tend to disagree. But if you are comparing go with Wolfgang. I use their AIO and I am impressed by it.

I have not tried the CG products yet. I did use the Wolfgang TSR, Finishing Glaze, and sealant on my Denali and the results were out of this world. It was my first time ever to DA and the Wolfgang products transformed my truck into a show queen. So easy to use and awesome results. I am a Wolfgang customer for life.

Keep in mind V38 is not designed to remove swirls, it is a finishing polish. I tried V36 on my cars paint and it got the light swirls out but didn't get everything. It did an ok job but I think there are better compounds/polishes out there. If you want to stick with CG get their V series sampler pack and see what works. Plenty of product to do a car.
I believe the Wolfgang polishes are made by Menzerna which is also very popular on this board. I will be using Menzerna products this spring when I polish my car.

I would suggest detailing from the top down, rather than the ground up. That way, you don't lean over panels you've already buffed out.
But yeah, Wolfgang is made by Menzerna and is definitely quality stuff.

Certain companies do some things better than others - CG are top notch for cleaners and soaps. For waxes, polishes, and sealants, I have been extremely unimpressed. Good marketing but marginal results.
I have had nothing but outstanding results from anything in the PBM family. Prefer BlackFire to WG personally but can't go wrong with any of Pinnacle / WG / BF
