    First Paid Detail Job

I'm sure the veteran detailers here can relate to their first paid job...and the anticipation of adding more. Happy customer. Nice results. Cash in hand. Let the games begin!

Most of my tools and supplies and skills came from AG. Thanks to Mike Phillips and the forum regulars who don't mind teaching us new guys.

    Pics tell the story--Chevy Malibu.

That's not a paint defect in the side mirror, it's a reflection of my nearby Harley, paint correction courtesy of the Megs Microfiber correction system.

I find it funny how after I spent a few hours with it, I knew more about the person's car than they did..."I didn't know that my passenger rear door lock didn't work," and "Where did you find that wheel lock key?""

Looks excellent, and thank you for taking the time to take pictures and share.
I can't help but wonder about the steering wheel pic; did you clean it or repair it?

Hello expdetailing. The steering wheel was a synthetic vinyl, so I cleaned it with Megs APC. Took a lot of rubbing to get the gunk off. No dressing because I didn't want it to have a slippery feel.

I find it funny how this "average" car owner could have cared less about the work and skill it took to get a mirror-like reflection in her paint...but marveled over the steering wheel.

I'm beginning to realize the difference between production work and show-car work. And the difference between the daily driver and the car enthusiast.

Thanks for recognizing the work area. I spent the last year turning my 2-car attached garage into a detailers workspace. My wife thought I was OCD crazy until she saw the first cash payment come in. Now she gets it.
