Another dealership horror story, featuring a Scion FR-S RS 1.0
Hey guys, been a while since my last write up. Finally got a car whose story I felt needed to be shared lol
Its a 2015 Scion FR-S RS 1.0 #893 of 1500.
I'm sure we are all not strangers to dealership preps/detailing gone bad, here is another. Probably the worst I have seen up to date!
Had a client email me interested in OCP & paint correction, mentioned it had been washed & swirled up by the dealership. But i was not expecting this!
But lets rewind before we get to the good stuff. Car was dropped off the night before & to make some time, I took it to the car wash(;
Wheels got cleaned via IronX, wheel woolies, & a few brushes. Tires got 3 rounds of LA's Totally Awesome to remove dealership applied tire shine.
Here you can see me waiting for IronX to do some work on the paint.
There wasn't a whole lot of "bleeding" going on but it was enough to remove whatever protection was there. After washing the car, turns out all the defects were from claying. Car was perfectly smooth. At least the dealership helped me out with that lol.
Car was then dried & taken back to my apartment complex parking lot. Swirls/marring was so bad you could easily see it!
Before starting on the paint, I needed to remove the clear bra. Which was just as screwed up as the rest of the paint )=
As you can see, the paint was bad allllll over. No area was spared of defects! It was worse in person, camera skills aren't good enough (yet) to capture everything on this color.
Oh the horror!
Hurray!
Here it is all taped up prior to polishing.
Fast forward a few days later to the finished product! Coated with OCP & optiseal on top.
Under the same LEDs, can you say "yeahhh baby!!". Excuse the different shade of yellos, my awesome camera skills are still in training lol
Now outside in the sun!
Thanks for looking!

Going to the dealership is causing me anxiety. I don't want them touching my car. I don't want them driving the car. They're all full of grease. I had a tire replaced at goodyear last week. I took a jack with me and took the tire off myself. I'm so paranoid im looking into how you can mount and balance tires yourself. I don't even want the dealership touching it when it needs inspected. It's funny, they look at you like your crazy when you tell them to be carefull with the car

God this crap boils my blood... How do they get away with this garbage... They did the same thing to my truck but it wasnt nearly that bad. The so called, self proclaimed, "professional detailer" who did that job needs to be tared and feathered and dragged behind a mule through the town in which he resides...

A good start to changing the dealership mindset, would be autogeek doing a commercial on the subject. Sort of a public service announcement, hey dealerships stop cleaning the cars.
