2013 Ford Escape TPNS & WDPS
My sister in law just purchased a used Escape from a used car lot. The dealership did not have a chance to thoroughly clean it before she took it home, so they told her to bring it back and they would take detail it. I told her that I would do it instead, and do it right.
The overall condition wasn't too bad. Mostly light/medium swirls, and a few deep scratches. My goal was not a major correction, just reduce the swirling and increase the gloss with Blackfire TPNS aio. I did end up giving extra attention to the hood with Menzerna 4000, which I would say removed 70% or more of the defects.
Products used:
CG citrus wash clear
Nanoskin fine wash mitt
Eagle One A2Z tire & wheel cleaner
Flex 3401
White hybrid pads
White 4" spotbuff pad
Blackfire TPNS
Menzerna 4000
Uber Compound by hand under door handles
Blackfire wd paint sealant
Ultima interior shampoo on interior panels
Opti bond applied to tires with Carrand tire brush
Hydro2 on wheels and glass
WG ETS on trim
It was cloudy when the Escape was dropped off, so no sun shots. Not a lot of pre wash shots either. Interior mainly needed wipedown and vacuum.
After cleaning tires and wheels, pre-wash
Pre-wash, not much shine or clarity
Ditto
Rocker, sill, and interior dirt
Fast forward to post polish and sealant.
My helper removing wdps haze. He was eager to help Dad.
Looking good in the sun
Nice clarity from an aio, imo
Rocker, sill, and interior clean now
Interior all cleaned up (forgot fingerprints on touchscreen)
Sister in law was ecstatic at the outcome.

Thanks! His older brother said he will not help me until I "work on a cool car like a Ford GT, or at least a car with a spoiler".

Thanks! I think she was just expecting me to clean it up a little, but obviously that's not how we geeks roll.
