2012 black Honda CR-V treated with Wolfgang line of products

    Hi,
This is my second time using a DA polisher and I wanted to use this opportunity to get your comments/suggestions on the work I did.

A little history on the vehicle: It is a crystal black pearl Honda CR-V. My wife's daily driver. We bought it almost brand new as it had about 1600km on the odo. I remember at the time, there was a scratch on the passenger door that I asked dealer to fix. So they detailed the exterior they said. Later I realized that it was a mistake to ask them to do anything. Anyway, as most daily drivers, it's been through its share of car washes and the swirls were clearly visible. A few scratches here and there but nothing major.

    1. Washed using a two bucket method
    2. Decontaminated using mother clay bar. Would have used ironX but ran out so I made sure I clayed it well.
    3. Washed again and hand dried using microfiber towels.
    4. My initial thought was to use Wolfgang's Total Swirl remover with a LC Orange CCS pad. I did that and removed swirls only so I switched to Wolfgangs Uber Compound and LC Cyan hydro tech pad to attack scratches.
    5. Polished with Wolfgang finishing glaze and a LC White pad.
    6. Sealed with Wolfgang Paint Sealer on LC Red pad.

Washed using Meguiars car wash, boar skin brush:

    Dried using microfiber towels:

    Decontaminated using Mothers clay bar:

Taped off to protect the trim and this vehicle has a lot of it:

Ok, so the damage was clearly present:

This is a close up of the above picture of a hood section showing some scratches I had to deal with:

    Moving onto the Before/After shots:

This is a nasty scratch I mentioned earlier. I managed to take it out almost completely. Also you can see a hologram inflicted by the dealer trying to fix the scratch:

My wife clearly never listened when I told her how to open the door

    Before/After:

In this shot, I tried to capture what happens when you compound only (on the right) and when you follow up with a polish (on the left). Correct me If I am wrong, but is that micro marring left by the compound?:

The final product. A reflection of my house on the hood:

My boy doing an inspection and judging by the look on his face, I don't think he's happy:

A shot of the driver's side mirror. You can see the stone chips:

The trim was treated with Wolfgangs Trim Sealant. The rims were pretty clean to start with so I just washed them again and applied some tire shine:

That Honda looks great. Even more impressive is,it's only your 2nd time machine polishing. Keep up the good work!

Very nice work bringing back the clarity to that black paint.

Thanks guys....I was a bit worried, just from reading here on the forms, for one BLACK paint, and two, HONDA paints being soft.
