    2005 Nissan Altima

Did this job yesterday. 2005 Nissan altima in rough shape. I was experimenting with the Megs da microfiber system with my flex 3401. Started off with a wash with CG Honey Dew soap followed by dp road kill on some bugs and tar and tarminator on the remaining tar followed by iron x.

After the iron x I washed again and smoothed out the nice texture the finish had with a nanoskin medium sponge.

I started testing out the pads and this job was a single polish step followed by sealant and a spray wax, the best result and being white for removing most defects and a great gloss was the megs cutting pad with d300 with my 3401 set to speed 3.5 to 4

Polished the whole car with the d300 followed by dp paint sealant and did a coat of xmt spray wax.

On the interior I used steam to blast out some cracks and then vacuumed and dressed plastics with meguiars #40 and used mothers vlr for the leather.

Nice work Dave! Came out great!

How did the mf system work out on the 3401?

Well compared to the hybrid 5 inch lc pads I've been using it corrected much faster. I removed maybe 80 percent of the defects on this car within 4 passes. So for the purpose of speed it was perfect. I was using the 6 inch mf pads since I used those for my griots polisher and there were some moments where I really had to fight the polisher. The roof of this car flexed quite a bit with any pressure and this caused the polisher to hop around a bit but only for the roof.

I'm going to grab up some 5 inch megs mf pads and try those next and see if the polisher feels any better.
