I was a Buyer for Carmax from '97-03. We didn't purchase junk then. Maybe things have changed a bit. Cars would get detailed and then they'd go to the interior guys if stains were still visible. Interior techs would fix burn holes/rips/dye carpets or trim. The detailers were paid around $27 per vehicle to fully detail a car/SUV. That's including compound/polish/wax and interior/engine detailing. I worked at one of the smaller stores and they would sell roughly 700 cars a month during the busy months...June, July, Aug.
Someone obviously got sloppy with the can of paint or had terrible lighting.

$27 a car for compounding and everything? I don't do it professionally. Actually, I've never done anything but my own. But that's hard work. I wouldn't even LOOK at your car for $27! LOL.
But I guess, in reality, that's no different than a minimum wage kid doing it for 4 hours. Actually, if you do the math, it's a little more!

I bought a brand new 2013 Camry a few months ago and a couple weeks after we bought it it suffered hail damage. Fast forward to yesterday at the body shop to get it repaired and I get a call. Progressive won't cover a dent by the sunroof because it's what they call an outty? The dealership did PDR in 2013 and pushed it out too far causing waves and a huge headache for me. I now have to contact the dealer to see if they will repair the work they did before I took ownership of the car.
Red dye is the worst color to remove from carpets. A process I used before was to spray windex on the the stain, lay a towel over it and put a hot iron on it just like you would with clothing. You may need to go over it a few times but it will pull the stain out.
