    Nubie Detail Lexus GS 350

This weekend did a 6 hr detail on my 2 mos old Lexus.

Wash with DP Xtreme Foam and Autogeek Z-011D Tornador Air Foamer HP - really excellent
    Clay not necessary
    Tires with Sonax
    Dry with Cobra towels
    Zanio Z2, Z5

Came out pretty nice but still swirls, marring and few light scratches. Polishing will be done after Detailing school in September. Thinking about a switch to Blackfire but love the "jetting" look that I am getting. Not sure if multiple coats of Blackfire would look same. More interested in looks than durability.

Excellent work on that lexus and not to be bossy or anything but its always good to clay the paintwork and when in doubt do a baggie test

I was going to say the same. Clay, IMO, one of the most important steps on a brand new car given what it usually goes through to get from the factory to the dealership. It's possible that is why you had a few swirls. No worries though, just hit it with a clay step when you polish after detailing school. IronX might be a good idea too...I try to do that on all "first" details whether the car is new or old.

I would highly recommend Blackfire on black paint. I love it! For a glassy shine go with BFWD topped with BFCS. For more depth, add a coat of BFMS paste wax on top of the CS.

Great car and great color! It will take a lot of work to keep it looking that nice, but your off to a good start. You will really enjoy the car. I've had three obsidian Lexus cars - nothing looks better IMO
