When did Opt. come out with a primer? Time to go look it up...
Thanks! The primer comes with Opti-Coat Pro, but is not available for sale to consumers. The primer is a spray polish (similar to OHP), but it contains a catalyst that is supposed to promote a stronger and quicker bond between the surface and the coating. It can be used for some correction work, or simply as a primer as I used it in this case. I can't remember when they came out with it. It's been a little while now.

But, I'm wondering if you were concerned about polishing with the paint being quite thin? Any idea how it got so thin? Or, is that normal for this particular vehicle?
Thanks! In my experience, that is typical of mazda's. My wife's CX-7, for instance, averages about the same 75 microns of thickness throughout. I did a 2 step correction on her car (fg400 & m205) with no issues, so I was not at all worried about a routine polish on this one. I did, however, tell the owners I would not attempt to remove some of the heavier scratches that they were concerned about.

Is that sticker something you had done through Optimum or somebody else? I love the idea.
The primer can actually have a decent amount of cut depending on the pad you use it with. I know many people will use it as a one-step correction product that is then ready to be coated afterwards, and perhaps more commonly it is used as a 2nd step in a 2 step process to clean up marring and refine the surface.
The clear window sticker is provided from Chris with the Opti-Coat... the door jam sticker is something I made on my own. I have a version for OC, CQuartz, CQF, and just a generic one without a product label on it.

Another amazing job and writeup OP. That miata looks amazing.
How do you like HD Adapt? How do you think it compares to Cut and Polish?

This was my first time using adapt. It acted as a nice, medium cut polish when paired with the white LC polishing pad on this paint. Was not as easy to wipe away as HD polish, but still no trouble to work with. Very, very minimal dusting... if it dusted it was usually because I needed to switch pads, so I did and the issue was resolved each time.
